Ghostface and Raekwon Massacre Miranda

By the end of this month we'll be blessed with another Wu-tang banger. If you haven't already heard the buzz, seen the trailers, or peeped any of the first singles - you are missing out. I looks like this decade the Wu are going to clean up with back-to-back albums of classic hip hop material. All it took was for them to return to "underdog" status to instill that hunger in them that results in crazy tracks like "Miranda".

Pray for Guru from Gangstar

From StraightBario.com:
Guru, 43 year old named Keith Elam; a rapper from the pioneering hip-hop group Gang Starr, is in a coma after suffering a heart attack over the weekend; DJ Premier, the other half of Gang Starr, first confirmed the news on his Sirius Satellte Radio Show Sunday

Guru underwent surgery today in a New York City hospital. We are praying for his quick recovery.

This is crazy news! I'm a huge fan of Gangstarr and always look forward for Guru and Preem to bless us with their next musical chapter. Pray for the best.

Raychesta not a fan of victim-less crimes

This is a very tight video and track from Raychesta, who normally raps faster than Twista on his songs. The gist of the track is that he was harassed and detained with real criminals and violent offenders for a "victim-less" crime that he committed.
Again, the reason the jails are overcrowded and our court system is backed up is because people who smoke pot or are caught harming themselves, are bunched in with rapists, murderers, thieves, vandals and all sorts of goons who violated real property rights.

Basically, let people get high, drunk and crunk in peace.

It sucks to be an Obama supporter (again)

Once again Rachel Maddow is on-point. She's got to be one of the most honest progressive in the media today. I'm glad anti-war Democrats are not giving up their cause of ending these illegal imperial wars. Recently the South Florida Veterans for Peace created "Arlington South Beach" during the Memorial Day weekend and with over 4000 deaths in Iraq being represented by a tombstone it was quite a site to see.

Again, don't believe the Obama hype, the guy worships Abe Lincoln, the first Republican tyrant, and he's definitely following in his footsteps.

Obama Crime Family hates your liberty!

This is the same bullshit from the last tyrannical administration. Thankfully, I keep reading of liberals who are already going sour on the Obama Crime Family. The dumb-fuck Republicans are finally screaming on the feds for their blatant socialism (where were their protests during the last 8 years?)

Obama officially shot down the idea of legalizing / decriminalizing Marijuana during hist town-hall meeting. Plus the feds raided a pot dispensary in violation of their earlier promise to back off and let the states handle this issue.

Don't let your "liberal" friends remain glass-eyed and mindlessly devoted to this current crop of criminals, spread the word on Barack Bush's continuing violations of our personal liberties!

Anti-Imperial Puerto Rican Hip Hop

After a close friend and I met up recently, he was amused by the fact that I refer to Obama, not as president, but as emperor. Emperor Obama this, Emperor Obama that... is how I speak. He asked why, then I responded that if we're not an empire then someone needs to call Puerto Rico and tell them that they've been jipped all of these years. As the conversation progressed about the topic of Puerto Rico's independence, he showed me Calle 13's video:

If you speak fluent Spanish then you can't deny that this classic Calle 13 protest track is as hot as it gets. Enjoy Querido F.B.I..

WOW!

I can't wait to hear the new Hip Hop tracks from Joaquin Phoenix. Maybe he'll dedicate a song to his brother River.

By the way, I almost pee'd myself watching that interview. Holy shit! I'm speechless.

Pitbull - Anti War Music

Miami's own Pitbull is using his fame and skills to promote an anti-war message. He even tosses in a jab or two against Castro and Che Guevara. Being that Pitbull is anti-war and anti-communist one can only conclude that his political views are in the land of libertarianism. Is Pitbull a classical liberal? Lets hope he keeps this sort of music coming because he can really influence alot of kids and hopefully keep them from joining the Army and participating in these useless wars.

Thomas Flav!

Thomas Flav!! It's Thomas Jefferson meets Flavor Flav from Public Enemy. Way before there was a Ron Paul Revolution, Thomas Jefferson staged the Revolution of 1800 when the Jeffersonian Democrats took over all the levels of government to fight the corrupt power in D.C.. The Hamiltonian Federalists were already violating our civil liberties and the ink on the Constitution wasn't even dry yet! Maybe that's why Hamilton got shot.

Get this Thomas Jefferson T-shirt over at Cafe Press.

Excessive force: SWAT teams vs. Hip Hop

Aint this some bullshit!

Last night, a federal SWAT team assisted the RIAA in a raid on the studio of Atlanta musician DJ Drama.

This local news report says the locally famous mixtape DJ is under investigation for piracy. But Drama's supporters say the DJ is a mix artist, not a bootlegger. They say news footage of the raid shows RIAA officials boxing up only recordable CDs filled with mixes, not bootlegs of retail CDs (the local news reporter seems to conflate the two as well).

Assuming for a moment that RIAA and federal officials do indeed know the difference between a mash-up DJ and a bootleg operation, and that they did find evidence of actual piracy in the bust, there's still the problem of why RIAA officials were participating in a police action, and why a SWAT team was used to raid a professional studio under investigation for a nonviolent, white-collar crime.

Yeah, this is bullshit! I personally work with Interscope Records, Warner Brothers, G-Unit Records, and others in their street promotion efforts in Miami. I'll tell you first-hand, as will the average Hip Hop fan, that these major labels actively support (financially and cooperatively) DJ's who produce and distribute mix CDs, such as DJ Drama. The RIAA is out of hand and so is the use of a SWAT team. This is bullshit!

And you wonder why the police gets such a bad rap in the inner city.

Immortal Technique prepares the "Middle Passage"

The self-made political rhyme monster and former Emcee Battle champ from Harlem drops some info on his next project "The Middle Passage". Immortal Technique has no problem using the full power of Hip Hop's global reach to criticize the Bush Crime Family and society's problems. With over 70,000 albums sold independently, his 3rd album is gonna continue exposing so-called "controversial" topics such as the fake "war on drugs", 9/11 cover-ups, police brutality, the exploitation of Black and Latino people in 3rd world countries, fake emcees, and the greed of the music business.

This interview is on Break Down TV, a cool online Hip Hop channel that also features music videos between the segments of the interview.

Immortal Technique definitely has some great advice for the Hip Hop community on investing money, having the cojones to make hard-hitting music, and taking on controversial issues. With millions and millions of dollars generated by Hip Hop music, we should have a stronger progressive movement and even less kids on welfare... not Jacob the jeweler sitting on another set of chrome wheels! (Fuck Jacob the jeweler, feed the kids instead) Check out the interview and see for yourself.
